Role: VMWare Engineer
Location: San Diego, CA

Description of Duties:

As the Systems Administrator – Senior for the team you will be responsible for
·         Providing comprehensive VMware administration support, in a challenging enterprise environment.
·         Providing Windows Administration support.

Qualifications:
·         Five years of technical experience administering VMware in a Windows/ Linux environment.
·         Completed Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field. Four years of additional general experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
·         Must have experience with Veeam/ V-Cloud Director / View Horizon.
·         Must have experience on Windows Administration
·         Knowledge of ISO/ITIL processes and documentation standards is desired.
·         Must be certified on Vmware.

Skills/Abilities:

·         Perform Critical incident management
·         Analytical troubleshooting skills, to identify and troubleshoot problem or isolate between Network/ DNS/ AD/ VM/ Storage issues
·         Ability to work in Cross geography support team, working in shifts. Should have experience of working in a team split across geographies.
·         Familiar with VMware 5.x VSphere, VCenter, ESXi, PowerCLI or VI Perl Toolkit, and Site Recovery Manager.
·         Must have experience installing the VMware Management applications while using remote database systems such as VCenter on a Windows 2008 while the database is running ina MSSQL cluster.
·         Contributes to project estimation process. Plans, schedules, monitors, and reports on activities related to the project. Integrates and uses specific industry methodologies (such as systems development, product development, and so forth).
·         Basic Linux / Power shell skills are a must.
·         Experience using remote management boards such as Dell DRAC, HP ILO, or IBM RAC.
·         Must be Familiar with building Virtual Machines. This includes both Windows and Linux systems.
·         Must be able to Understand and configure the networking on the ESXi hosts and VCenter servers.
·         Candidate must understand the concepts of Boot From SAN with VMware products.
·         Candidate must have experience on large VM setups with high movements between setup/ High availability etc
·         Candidate should have worked on 70 to 80% of virtualized environment and should have experience of working in big datacenter with ~5000+ virtual servers.
·         Measure performance, availability and scalability of the infrastructure and do/ suggest tuning parameters for critical issues.

Role: VMware Enterprise Architect
Location: Chicago, IL
Duration: 6+ Month contract


The Sr. VMware Systems Engineer will support the VMware infrastructure. The candidate needs to have a technical understanding of VMware 4/5 as this position supports our server virtualization computing solution and the ongoing delivery of cost optimized VM services. As a member of the VMware team, the right individual will need to be strong in documentation and requirements planning.

Required Skills:
• Strong understanding of VMware vSphere and ESX technologies: VCD, SRM, vCOPS, AutoDeploy, Distributed Switches,
• Strong knowledge of VMware PowerCLI
• Solid understanding of virtual and physical network, storage and security concepts and practices
• Understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems and command line operations
• Working knowledge of data center management concepts and practices
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
• VMware Engineer must have the ability to develop quantitative, prioritized action plans to mitigate risk
• Process, procedure, and standards development experience
• Solid team player with a “can do? attitude
• Weekends – After Hour Work: Must maintain a flexible schedule and be available to work non-standard business hours upon requestor or as needed
• On Call: Must be available via cell phone for issue resolution and assistance after hours.

Desired Skills: VCP preferred
