Senior Solution Architect (Virtualization + Compute + Converged Infra)

Job Type: Permanent

 

Sr. Solution Architect is responsible for providing technical/non-technical consulting & advisory services for clients, leading and executing Datacenter transformations. Senior Solution Architect functions in both pre-sales and post-sales capacity with broad horizontal skill sets with core competency in Virtualization, compute and converged infra, preferably with networking and security exposure.  Senior Solution Architects are competent in key areas such as solution design, implementations, operations, relationship building and client interaction.

 

Responsibilities:

•         Participate in customer visits, conference calls, and assisting with defining the scope of services tasks for potential engagements

•         Assess customer environment and requirements and design world-class Datacenter transformation solutions, leveraging best practices and best-of-breed technologies

•         Facilitate implementation of converged infrastructure (UCS, Vblock, FlexPod etc) solutions

•         Develops customer relationships with data center customers

 

Basic Qualifications:

•         Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field

•         At least Twelve (preferably 12-16 ) years of information technology work experience and experience architecting, implementing, and/or managing virtual infrastructure environments

 

Other Position Requirements:

•         Experience with VMware virtualization technologies including vSphere, vCenter management suite, Site Recovery Manager.

•         Experience with x86 server and converged infrastructure technologies including IBM, Dell, HP and Cisco

•         Cloud Solutions – migration and integration

•         Experience with any of the storage platforms including NetApp, EMC, IBM, HP.

•         Knowledge of platform and network connectivity

•         Ability to work closely with customers

•         Good communication and presentation skills

•         Ability to produce clear and detailed technical documentation

•         Ability to work independently and in a team environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

•         Consulting experience

•         Advanced experience in Virtualization and Cloud Technologies.

Preferably with one or more of the following certifications (Not compulsory)

•         VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

•         VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP)

•         Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)

•         Experience with Microsoft technologies including File/Print/DNS/DHCP/DFS/Clustering/RDS.

Essential Functions

•         The position exists to provide technical consulting solutions to customers and as such requires the ability to travel to and from customer sites and interact with customers on an ongoing and regular basis.
