ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Install, configure and maintain Oracle 11g and 12c software on Red Hat Linux platforms.
• Install, configure and maintain Oracle 11g and 12c RAC software on Red Hat Linux platform
• Remotely manage Production Oracle database systems using TOAD or similar tools
• Manage the database Oracle ASM file system on Linux platform
• Tune database parameters for optimal system performance.
• Tune Linux system parameters in consultation with system administrators
• Aid developers and application DBAs in detecting performance problems including analysis of SQL, PL/SQL, and JDBC code.
• Provide continuous monitoring, troubleshooting, historical and real time performance monitoring of the Oracle 11g and 12c environments using Oracle Diagnostic and Tuning packs, and/or third party tools
• Provide backup and restore functions for Oracle 11g and 12c databases using RMAN and Data Pump.
• Understand Database failover technologies using Veritas cluster
• Follow ITIL processes for incident management, change management and problem management
• Compliance with ISO 20000 and ISO 27001 standard processes
• Educational Qualifications and Experience:
• Education: Bachelor degree in Science or Engineering
• Role Specific Experience: 5 – 7 years relevant experience as a DBA in Oracle 11g/Oracle 12c in Red Hat Linux environment
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Oracle 11g DBA certification is required
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
· Experience as DBA in Oracle 11g/Oracle 12c Red Hat Linux using ASM storage
· Relevant experience in remote management of Production database system
· Relevant experience with Oracle RAC in Red Hat Linux platform
· Relevant experience with Oracle ASM file system
· Relevant experience with RMAN for backup and recovery
· Experience with using performance analysis tools
· Experience in Grid Control
· Experience in Oracle Data Guard
· Relevant experience in use of ITIL processes
· Relevant experience for SOX compliance of critical financial systems
· Effective interpersonal and communication skills
· Willingness to work on flexible working hours including weekends
PLUS:
• Experience in using OEM for job and event management
• Experience in Oracle LDAP
• Experience in using OEM for job and event management
• Experience with Oracle Exadata
• Oracle 12c DBA certification
• Minimal experience with managing Oracle databases on AIX
• Required Skills Oracle 11g/12c on Linux, Oracle ASM, Oracle RAC, Oracle RMAN, Oracle DatagGuard with and without Oracle RAC;
