Availability Manager -
Roles and Responsibilities:
The
primary responsibility of the Availability Manager is management of business
aligned IT services and service level management.
The
Availability Manager ensures the availability of production systems.
The
Availability Manager generally has the following responsibilities:
- Oversees processes adherence and Develops processes to
improve operations.
- Provides reporting, incident analysis, trend analysis.
- Ensures technical issues or concerns are addressed and
mitigated.
- Oversees processes adherence and Leads the availability
and communicates plans.
- Develops processes to improve operations.
- Responsible for execution and continuous improvement of
the Major Incident and Critsit process
- Ensuring major incidents are effectively managed and
coordinated with the required urgency and that all stakeholders are kept
informed of progress in an organized and timely manner
- Preventing
problems and resulting incidents from happening, to eliminate recurring
incidents and to minimize the impact of incidents that cannot be
prevented.
- Ensuring
that proactive measures to improve the availability of services are
implemented
- Publish
monthly Major Incident Management metrics
- Maintain
the Major Incident Management process and procedures
Basic Qualifications:
·
3-5 years practical experience in incident
management, problem management, Process management.
·
Proven experience with
troubleshooting complex environment and streamlining processes.
·
Demonstrated experience with Service
and Event Management tools.
·
Proven experience and understanding
of identifying gaps and doing root cause analysis.
·
Proven experience with coordinating
resolution of major incidents
·
Proven ability to be detail,
deadline, and results-oriented
·
Strong leadership skills with the
ability to motivate and encourage others
·
Ability to manage competing
priorities and workflow
·
Solid interpersonal skills for
written, oral, and face to face communications
·
Practical experience with influence
and negotiation methods and techniques
·
Strong customer service orientation,
seeking opportunities to serve clients
·
Experience working in a shift
environment
·
Solid understanding of available and
emerging IT technologies
·
Good understanding of how IT
technology supports the Enterprise and the Business Segments
·
Working experience of ServiceNow
tool.
Preferred Qualifications
- ITIL
Foundations V3 or higher
- Lean/six
sigma certified.
- Experience
in enterprise scale IT departments highly desire
- Experience
with outsourced IT environments highly desired
- Proven
knowledge of UNIX and Windows Operating Systems a plus
- Proven
knowledge of virtualization platforms a plus
- Proven
Knowledge of clustering technology a plus
- Proven
knowledge of data storage solutions a plus
Required Education Bachelor’s
Degree in Computer Science or related field
