Title of Position: Network Voice Architect

Roles & Responsibilities:

Description:

Unified Communications engineer responsible for the design and development of voice, video and/or data communication networks. Will work with Unified Communications Engineering resources to ensure proper delivery of functional systems and additionally assist in troubleshooting Unified Communications voice/video system clusters and endpoints. Quickly respond to customer issues regarding application/hardware related issues, resolve on the spot problems. Able to replicate issues for internal analysis/diagnosis, and prepare/proofread technical documentation accurately depicting the problem and/or solution for feedback to developer/vendor and program.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities 
1. Analyzes voice, video and/or data communications networks including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading systems and protocol suites
2. Design, develop and execute Cisco collaborated endpoint technologies to include 
i. Cisco EX, DX, SX, MX series
ii. IP Television solutions/vBrick REV
iii. Cisco Telepresence Solutions 
iv. Cisco Unified Communications Call Manager (CUCM) version 10.x
v. Cisco Unity Connection
vi. Cisco Unified Communications Manager IM and Presence
vii. Collaborated Meeting Rooms
3. Plans system updates and schedules outages. Configures systems and user environments
4. Provides direction in the development of continued technologies, ECP's and tasking related to Unified Communications and other User Facing Services
5. Identifies, analyzes and resolves system problems
6. Perform network and system administration duties
7. Maintains current working knowledge of relevant system technologies 
8. Participates in special projects as required
9. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers
10. Develop procedures and documentation for managing, deploying and implementing multiple baseline hardware/images and system updates


1. Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in Unified Communications and system design
2. Advanced Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications operating systems, Cisco Video solutions, VCS, TMS and Virtual Telepresence Server 
3. Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications systems conferencing solutions, understanding of licensing agreements for voice and video technologies
