Role: Senior Network Security Engineer

Position
Summary:
·
This
dynamic, hands-on position will be responsible for planning, design,
configuration and support of the company’s core security architecture.
The successful candidate will demonstrate subject matter expertise over a wide
variety of technologies and collaborate with other engineering teams to
implement improved security measures for iBasis worldwide network. As a
security advocate and the position will advise key stakeholders and service
owners on risk management and how to balance security and business
requirements, communicating mitigation strategies to both technical and
non-technical audiences. The position offers a wide degree of creativity
– the Senior Network Security Engineer will proactively identify risks, propose
mitigations and lead security improvement projects.
Key
Responsibilities
·
Generate
and maintain security documentation for system hardware and software, to
include System Security Plans, equipment lists, practices and procedures.
Determine security requirements by evaluating business strategies and
requirements; research information security standards; conduct system security
and vulnerability assessments
·
Develop
and implement strategies for securing assets, customer services delivery, and
regulatory/audit compliance.
·
Perform
engineering tasks such as implementing firewall changes, establishing VPNs with
partner companies, AAA administration, managing of access lists and software
upgrades.
·
Proactively
identify areas where security policies can be improved, document the changes
and
·
Engage
Engineering, Operations and IT teams to analyze security risks, propose
mitigations and security lead improvement projects.
·
Provide
mentoring and technical leadership to the Engineering teams on security
standards, policies, and technologies.
·
Act
as SME and provide third-level support and analysis during and after security
events
Qualifications
·
A
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred in Electrical / Computer Engineering or
Computer Science.
·
5
or more years of experience architecting solutions with a concentrated focus on
security, performance, scalability, and reliability
·
At
least 7 years of progressively complex networking and security experience
including hands on experience with Cisco products – routers, switches, ASAs and
TACACS.
·
Expert
understanding and working knowledge of TCP/IP, access-control lists, VLANs,
VPNs, firewalls, and dynamic routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF and EIGRP.
·
Demonstrated
experience in troubleshooting methodologies
·
Excellent
problem solving / analytical skills and knowledge of analytical tools
·
Excellent
communication skills and experience working collaboratively in cross-functional
teams.
·
Hands
on experience with application load balancers, SSL, IPSEC.
Plusses
·
CCIE
with Security focus
·
Experience
in a telecommunications service provider environment using protocols such as
SIP, DIAMETER, SIGTRAN, SMPP, GTP
